U.S. and European forces have sent planes and missiles hurled against the troops of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in Most Western military intervention in the Arab world since the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Continue reading this news
Libyan state television said Western air strikes in 48 people have died and 150 were injured. The TV also reported that there was a new wave of attacks on Tripoli in the early hours of today.

CBS News on its website said today that three American B-2 bombers dropped 40 bombs on a major airport Libyan "without giving further details. A Pentagon spokesman said he was not informed of an attack of this kind. The French air
fired the first shots in the late afternoon yesterday in a campaign to force Gadhafi troops to cease fire and to put an end to attacks on civilians. The warplanes destroyed tanks and armored vehicles near the eastern rebel stronghold, Benghazi.
Today the rebels have returned to advance toward the strategic city of Ajdabiyah, who lost last week.
Gaddafi has called the action an act of aggression "and colonial crusade."
